Endpoint - How to relocate an endpoint

Overview:

The system associates an endpoint serial number with a predetermined location based on known location, asset and point names.

The serial number may change, for example an endpoint may be replaced, removed or used at multiple locations.

What is important to remember is that the data collected will remain associated with the point name it was collected against.

In order to ensure this occurs and you do not accidentally corrupt your records, follow this procedure:

Endpoint Mapping Procedure:

1. Ensure the desired locations and assets are created first, this ensures they are avaialble for allocation quickly in the next step.

   

2. Navigate to the endpoint setup table and select EDIT.

   

   Here you can choose what you want to edit, for example you can edit a name but remember the data collected will remain associated with that new name, or perhaps you want to CREATE a new endpoint name? Either way, you can select available hardware serial numbers to associate with the named point.

3. Make your changes and SAVE
