GreaseBoss Data Communications Options - Automatic System Monitoring Solution

Connect via:

Standard SIM – 4G LTE Public Network (default GreaseBoss option)
Your own SIM – Private 4G Network
WiFi – Guest Network
WiFi / Ethernet LAN – Private Network; whitelisted for firewall traffic
WiFi / Ethernet LAN – Private Network; on-premise server with GreaseNode installation

Option 1: Run GreaseBoss Isolated From Your Network (via SIM - 4G LTE)

Recommended for small agile customers or large customers who want to pilot GreaseBoss quickly and receive value fast. Use a GreaseBoss provided SIM (default) or your own private 4G network SIM. Customers who deploy using this option initially can progress to option 2, 3 or 4.

Fastest and most cost effective way to start with GreaseBoss Secure as no GreaseBoss networked devices can interact with the customer network	Requires whitelisted access for customer systems to interact with externally hosted GreaseCloud instance. Always requires GreaseBoss provided gateway and external telecommunications provider

Option 2: Run GreaseBoss on Your Guest Network

An alternative to option 1 is to leverage an existing customer guest network for providing internet connectivity to GreaseBoss networked devices.

The customer network can be leveraged to improve the robustness of the connectivity	Requires whitelisted access for customer systems to interact with externally hosted GreaseCloud instance. GreaseBoss devices may be reachable by other devices on the guest network

Option 3: Run GreaseBoss Through Your Network

Recommended for customers who want tight control over all networked devices on site or who do not have access to an external telecommunications provider but do have internet access (e.g. a remote mine site). GreaseBoss sends and receives its data via a secure VPN tunnel.

Recommended for security conscious customers who are prepared to roll out GreaseBoss at a large scale.
