Before you start you will need;

Ensure the Gateway is powered on. After power-up, allow a couple of minutes for its own Wi-Fi hotspot to start broadcasting.
A laptop or computer with Wi-Fi, positioned close to the Gateway.
The name (SSID) and password of the site Wi-Fi network you want to connect the Gateway to.
The Gateway's admin login (username and password) — supplied by GreaseBoss support if you don't already have it.

Procedure

Step 1 Connect your computer to the Gateway's own Wi-Fi

1.1 Check the underside of the Gateway for its serial number (e.g. GBLG20003D) — this is also the name of the Wi-Fi network it broadcasts.

1.2 On your computer, connect to the Wi-Fi network with that same name.

Step 2 Log in to the Gateway's admin console

2.1 Open a web browser and go to 192.168.1.1

2.2 At the “Authorization required” screen, enter the Gateway's username and password, then click Log In. The Username is "admin", and contact GreaseBoss for the Password.

Step 3 Open the Wireless settings

3.1 In the left-hand menu, click Network, then Wireless. This opens Network › Wireless › SSIDs.

Step 4 Remove any previous Wi-Fi client entry (if reconfiguring)

4.1 If a second entry already exists with Mode: Client (a previous site Wi-Fi connection), click Delete next to it and confirm. A green “Configuration has been removed” message confirms it's gone.

Note: Skip this step if this is the first time connecting the Gateway to site Wi-Fi — you'll only see one entry (the Gateway's own Access Point).

Step 5 Scan for the site Wi-Fi network

5.1 At the bottom of the SSIDs page, click Scan 2.4GHz (or Scan 5GHz if your site network uses the 5GHz band).

5.2 Wait for the Wireless scan results list to populate.

Step 6 Join the site Wi-Fi network

6.1 Find your site's network name in the scan results and click Join network alongside it.

Note: The network shown in the video (“greasebosshq”) is just the example used when the video was recorded — look for your own site's network name.

Step 7 Enter the Wi-Fi password

7.1 On the “Joining network” screen, enter the site Wi-Fi password (WPA passphrase) and click Submit.

Step 8 Confirm the connection settings and save

8.1 A configuration window opens automatically. Check that: Enable is On, Auto-reconnect is On, Mode is Client, Radio matches the band you scanned, and the SSID, BSSID and Password fields are filled in. Leave Network set to the default (wifi1).

8.2 Click Save & Apply.

Note: Your browser may pop up its own “Fill generated password” suggestion — ignore this. Use the actual site Wi-Fi password, not a generated one.
