GreaseBoss Naming Conventions

We have several standard naming conventions we suggest you use to keep things operationally easy to understand while allowing us to also understand what a name refers to.

The following glossary is our recommended naming convention (you can use your own too)

Note: We are looking towards using machine learning to recognise patterns in your greasing and using unconventional names might make that process sub-optimal.

For example a bearing seal on the drive side of a conveyor at the GTU might be named:

“GTU LAB DS”

and would also be identified by the relevant asset ID too

“GTU LAB DS” on “CV001”

GB term (as seen on screen of head unit)
