How do I install a HME Gateway?

HME Gateweay Installation Guide

Gateway Installation

Gateway with LTE (4G)

The router comes attached to an aluminium plate. This plate is flush on the bottom of the router allowing easy mounting to a flat surface.

Use the dedicated areas to drill and attach the desired mounting option. (Screw, bolt, magnet, Din Rail etc.)

There are 2 ports available for use on the Gateway.

MOBILE MAIN is used for plugging in the External Mag mounted LTE Antenna.

BT is used for plugging in the long, braided cable which will attach to the outdoor omni antenna. This antenna is key in maintaining stable Bluetooth connectivity with the GreaseBoss devices.

The kit contains an optional Coaxial Cable which can be used for Strain Relief with the Bluetooth antenna:

The LTE (4G) Antenna is a 3m long cable and Mag mounted antenna that connects to MOBILE MAIN on the Gateway.

Gateway with No SIM (No LTE)

Onsite Moxa Switch or other - for ethernet connection

Gateway BLE Antenna

For installing the BLE Antenna you will need the following:

GreaseBoss Provided:

  • Antenna
  • Pole Mounting Bracket
  • Amalgamating Tape

User Provided:

  • Electrical Tape

The antenna has an O-ring designed to ensure the Antenna is weatherproof. Ensure this is in place before installation.

Thread the antenna through the threaded hole on the bracket until it is tightly wound. Note the Bracket is designed to be pole mounted but can also be vertical surface mounted.

Take the N-type connector of the braided cable and connect it to the Antenna and bracket. Ensure there is no gap between the connector,  bracket and antenna.

Wind Amalgamating tape around the connection starting from the bottom of the plate down to the N-type connector of the 15m Cable. This will help prevent water disrupting the connection.

Cover the amalgamating tape with Electrical tape, this will provide extra protection from weather and UV.
