How to reset a reservoir

Overview

  • GreaseBoss endpoints can be associated with a reservoir.

  • An operator can easily reset the reservoir in the field, with the button on the face of the endpoint, which advises the system to reset the reservoir volume to the configured “full” level.

  • It has the same effect as using the RESET feature in the system

Typical scenarios:

  • A single point lubricator is connected to a small 250cc canister, which is treated as the associated “reservoir” (assuming it has been configured correctly)

Note: It is possible for multiple endpoints to be associated with a reservoir.

If that is the case, only one of the associated endpoints needs to be reset, the reservoir is reset regardless of which associated endpoint sends the reset command.

  • Multiple endpoints are associated with a single bulk bin, for example 1000kg which is treated as a shared reservoir for multiple endpoints

  • The button on the endpoint is configured to allow an operator to easily notify the system to reset the reservoir level.

PROCEDURE: Reservoir RESET

1. press and hold the button down for 3-4 seconds and release.

  1. The red and green LEDs will slowly cycle on/off 3 times and then stay off.

  2. This indicates a reset button press signal has been recorded and will be sent to the system
(may take up to 6 hrs to be reported)

  3. There is no further action required by the operator.

  4. If the operator is unsure if the reset was successful, just repeat the process, contact your supervisor or GreaseBoss support.

Alternatively, a GreaseBoss system user or GreaseBoss support ( support@greaseboss.com.au ) may:

  • Assist confirming the reset has been recorded.

  • Manually apply the reset remotely

  • Back date the reset if required - for example the operator was unable to advise until back in phone service etc.

Example 1: Bulk Bin with multiple endpoints associated

In this example:

  • Resetting endpoint 1 or 2 would reset the mine grease reservoir.

  • Similarly, resetting either 3 or 4 would reset the open gear lube reservoir

Example 2: Single point lubricator with a single endpoint associated

In this example:

  • Resetting point 5 would advise the system to reset the volume of the canister to 250cc (the configured “full” mark)
