Snap Fit (Zerk) Grease Tags - Overview
designed to be installed over the head of a Zerk grease fitting and read by the Head Unit during a
service round.

SAFETY
Read this manual before installing, servicing or removing the device.
Wear PPE appropriate to the asset and environment.
Wipe excess grease from the fitting head before installation so the tag seats correctly.
The tag is passive — it contains no battery and no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to
open the housing.
Do not modify the tag or use damaged tags. A cracked or deformed tag may not retain on the
fitting and will not read reliably.
Intended use: identification of grease points serviced by the GreaseBoss Manual System, within
the temperature, chemical and ingress limits in the Tech Specs.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Snap-Fit Grease Tag clips over the head of a standard Zerk grease fitting and remains in place
during the lifetime of the system. Each tag carries a unique UHF RFID identifier that is read by the
GreaseBoss Head Unit when the grease nozzle is engaged with the fitting, automatically logging
which grease point was serviced and tracking the volume of grease applied.
The tag is fully passive — no batteries, buttons or indicators. It is supplied in two regional variants
(US and EU) tuned for the local UHF RFID band; check the variant matches the regional band of
the Head Units in use on site.
External features and overall geometry are shown in the product drawing below

NORMAL OPERATION
No user interaction is required during routine use. When the Head Unit nozzle is engaged with the grease fitting during a service round, it scans the tag automatically and logs the grease event against the corresponding grease point and volume applied.
DECOMMISSIONING AND DISPOSAL
Lever the tag off the fitting head by pulling on the lobe of the tag. The tag contains no batteries or hazardous materials and may be disposed of as general electronic waste, or returned to GreaseBoss.
