INSTALLATION PLANNING MEETING

The first step in the process is to schedule an Installation Planning Meeting.

This meeting ensures everyone involved understands the installation plan and responsibilities before work begins.

We recommend including the following people where possible:

  • Maintenance supervisor
  • Reliability engineer
  • Maintenance planner or scheduler
  • Mechanical fitter supervisor
  • Electrical supervisor
  • IT / OT representative

The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • Confirm the assets that will be monitored
  • Review the installation approach
  • Confirm installation locations
  • Review communication/network requirements
  • Assign installation personnel
  • Schedule installation works

Following this meeting, GreaseBoss will prepare installation work orders in the Hindsite Mobile Application and supporting documentation.

GREASEBOSS GREASECLOUD DASHBOARD ACCESS

The GreaseBoss Cloud Dashboard is where system data is displayed and where system configuration is managed.

Before system commissioning, please consider which personnel in your organisation will require access to the platform.

Typical users may include:

  • Reliability engineers
  • Maintenance supervisors
  • Asset managers
  • Operations managers

Please provide the following information for each user:

Name

| Email Address |

Permission Level

Common permission levels include:

  • Site Admin – full system configuration access and user administration
  • Manager – Some system configuration access
  • General User – Read-only access

For more details on user permissions and access, view this information in our Knowledge Base: https://knowledge.greaseboss.com.au/manage-users-permissions-explained-site-admins

PLANNERS/SCHEDULERS

Maintenance planners, schedulers, or project coordinators play an important role in ensuring the GreaseBoss installation is completed efficiently and safely within existing site workflows.

Crew and Equipment Resources Required during the installation can include:

Crew/Resource

Task / Requirement

Required/Optional

Fitters

Install Endpoint

Required

Auto Electrician / Electrician

Install Gateway

Required

Hose & Fittings Suppliers

Make Hoses and have Fittings available on site

Optional (if site has hoses premade and fittings sourced and all delivered prior to install)

Boilermakers

Fabricate Brackets if required

Optional (Brackets not required if using supplied Mag Mounts for Endpoints)

EWP & Operator

Access points where Endpoints are to be installed at hieghts (ie: on boom or stick of excavator or arms of loader)

Optional (dependent on asset and installation location of Endpoint).

Estimated Duration Of Installation

When Experienced

Haul Truck

1 day

0.5 day

Excavator / Loader

2 days

1 – 1.5days

Scheduling Considerations

When planning installation works, the following factors may need to be considered:

  • Asset availability
  • Maintenance shutdown windows
  • Crew availability
  • Access to grease lines and lubrication systems
  • Electrical access for gateway installation
  • Safety and permit requirements

GreaseBoss will assist your planning team in determining the estimated time and resources required for installation.

PROCUREMENT OF HOSES, FITTINGS & ADDITIONAL ANCILLARY COMPONENETS

The installation of the GreaseBoss System components will require the procurement of additional hoses, fitting and ancillary components.

Prior to installation, consider and conform the following:

  • The number and type of fittings required to install the Endpoints in line of the grease system lines
  • The hoses type, length and size required to install the Endpoints in line of the grease system lines
  • Confirm the locations the Endpoints will be installed and measure distances from grease points to assist with hose lengths.
  • Have a hose and fitting supplier on site during the install to make hoses and supply fittings to suit and accommodate changes in planned install locations
  • Determine if Endpoints will be mounted using supplied Mag Mounts or if will need to have a bracket fabricated to be installed.

Components

Considerations

Endpoint to Hose Fittings

  • ¼” BSP Male Fittings for Low Flow and MP2 Endpoints
  • ¾” BSP Male Fittings for Bulk Flow and High Flow Endpoints

Hoses

  • Endpoint to Grease Point
  • Injector to Endpoint
  • Endpoint to Injector

Brackets

  • Endpoint size and bolt-hole pattern
  • Bracket mounting location and if to be welded or bolted in place

Protective Plates

  • Will protective plates be required to cover and protect Endpoints during operation

IT / OT REQUIREMENTS

In some cases, the GreaseBoss system may require review or approval from IT or OT teams to confirm compliance with site network and cybersecurity policies.

Possible connectivity options include:

  • LTE / cellular communication
  • Site WiFi
  • Ethernet connection
  • Private operations networks

The IT / OT team may be required to assist with:

  • Approving the selected network communication method
  • Providing network access details where required
  • Confirming firewall or security requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with site cybersecurity policies

If your organisation requires IT approval processes, we recommend IT or OT team being involved early in the planning phase.
