Replace a lost tag
A common question is “How do I replace a lost tag?”
It is a very simple process and by far the easiest way to do so is using the onboarding web app.
Before you can access the web app you must have a GreaseBoss account and access to the relevant sites account.
-
using your mobile device (phone) go to onboard.greasecloud.io and log in
-
browse to the point in question in the asset editor
-
in the RFID field, delete the data that is in the field (be sure this is the correct point)
TIP: consider copying the original rfid data to the additional notes field in case you need to refer to it later as it will be deleted once you finish otherwise. -
use the head unit to scan a new tag (it will read as unknown and display a QR code).
-
on the mobile device, use the camera icon to scan the QR code with the phone camera
(5), (6) and (7)
-
the app will populate the RFID field with data from the QR code.
-
SAVE the work
-
if you are in a phone coverage area, go to the top of the screen and select SUBMIT TO GREASECLOUD
(This will be unavailable if you are offline and the data will be saved on your phone until service is available again)
OFFLINE
TIP: if you know you need to operate in a poor coverage area, start the process and enter flight mode until you know you are back in a strong signal area, exit flight mode and then submit you work. -
confirm your work in the system grease tag table.
grease tags, tag mapping, check the entry
-
ensure the head unit is synchronised again before next use.
That’s it.
