Every grease point needs a digital identity for the GreaseBoss System to work.

We achieve this using RFID technology between tags and the head unit.

Every grease point will need a grease tag applied.

(1) press to apply the tag (2) retract to leave tag applied correctly- note flush side faces out

Tags applied

  1. Apply the grease tag

    1. one time only and literally take seconds.

    2. Can be done safely with plant online.

  2. Once applied the tag is “mapped” in the GreaseBoss Cloud.

    1. Done once during installation or for any replacement tags.

    2. Again, no operational interruption.

  3. Head unit displays information about that point

    1. Once mapped in the grease cloud and synchronised from then on the head unit will display the desired name for that point to make it easier to identify.

    2. Any specific issue, for example wrong grease type warning for that point

Notes about tag orientation:

Tags should be installed with some care when in close proximity to others to avoid cross reading.

If that occurs you can resolve the issue easily by moving the tags nearby the point you are readin to be in an unreadbale location relative to the coupler.

Electric gun

The GreaseBoss Head Unit is able to be fitted to a manual or electric gun

📁 NOTE:

  • We need to know what make and model your grease gun is to ensure the correct adapter is supplied to you.

  • This is typically discovered during the sales and onboarding process.

LED and On-screen information during activity

The current version of the head unit has a handle with a red green blue LED internally.

The LEDs will illuminate depending on the detected tag’s planned behaviour.

Corresponding information displays on screen.

Here is a simple explanantion of some every day scenarios, the LED colour and on screen information:

Activity

  • N/A

Near a tag with no planned activity (not scheduled at all or not scheduled for now)

red square

  • No task found
  • Do not grease

  • advise supervisor if abnormal (possile configuration issue)

Near a tag THAT IS DUE and HAS A TARGET VOLUME. proceed to grease.

blue square

  • Task found

  • Point name and target volume

  • deliver to target volume

  • watch for green LED

Near a tag BEING GREASED blue, and REACH THE TARGET volume

Near a tag, being greased and OVER GREASED BY >20% than the target volume

red square

  • Target over shoot by 20% or more

  • STOP greasing, target over shoot

  • move to next point

Near a tag that is not configured for the grease type in the assigned grease gun (attached to the head unit),Warning warning of imminent wrong grease delivery!!!

warning WRONG GREASE

  • STOP greasing

  • notify supervisor if any was delivered

Standard Operating Procedure

Once fully configured :

  1. Approach a point and connect - watch screen and LED

    1. if red square STOP go to next point

    2. if blue square proceed to grease

  2. Deliver grease until:

    1. green square and STOP (target reached) or

    2. if you overshoot to red square then STOP (target overshot)

  3. Proceed to the next point until there are no more tasks due on screen

Trouble reading tags?
