Manual System - Tags and Head Unit (Version 2.0)
See also: Technical Specifications
Every grease point needs a digital identity for the GreaseBoss System to work.
We achieve this using RFID technology between tags and the head unit.
Every grease point will need a grease tag applied.
Zerk points:
(1) press to apply the tag (2) retract to leave tag applied correctly- note flush side faces out
Tags applied
-
Apply the grease tag
-
one time only and literally take seconds.
-
Can be done safely with plant online.
-
-
Once applied the tag is “mapped” in the GreaseBoss Cloud.
-
Done once during installation or for any replacement tags.
-
Again, no operational interruption.
-
-
Head unit displays information about that point
-
Once mapped in the grease cloud and synchronised from then on the head unit will display the desired name for that point to make it easier to identify.
-
Any specific issue, for example wrong grease type warning for that point
-
Notes about tag orientation:
Tags should be installed with some care when in close proximity to others to avoid cross reading.
If that occurs you can resolve the issue easily by moving the tags nearby the point you are readin to be in an unreadbale location relative to the coupler.

Buttonhead points :
-
Prepare the surface for the adhesive tag
-
Press and HOLD for 10 seconds to the surface
-
Ready to slide on the coupler and grease. The rfid chip is read and information displayed on the head unit.
-
Slide off when done. activity is recorded against the point as mapped in the system

Hand gun |
Electric gun |
The GreaseBoss Head Unit is able to be fitted to a manual or electric gun
📁 NOTE:
-
We need to know what make and model your grease gun is to ensure the correct adapter is supplied to you.
-
This is typically discovered during the sales and onboarding process.
LED and On-screen information during activity
The current version of the head unit has a handle with a red green blue LED internally.
The LEDs will illuminate depending on the detected tag’s planned behaviour.
Corresponding information displays on screen.
Here is a simple explanantion of some every day scenarios, the LED colour and on screen information:

Standard Operating Procedure
Once fully configured :
-
Approach a point and connect - watch screen and LED
-
if
STOP go to next point
-
if
proceed to grease
-
-
Deliver grease until:
-
and STOP (target reached) or
-
if you overshoot to
then STOP (target overshot)
-
-
Proceed to the next point until there are no more tasks due on screen
